The Asus K Series is comprised of the K42Jr, K42F, K52Jr, K52F, K72Jr and K72F, all of which feature the new Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, as well as Palm-proof Technology, which is capable of distinguishing between the users’ finger and palm. This prevents the cursor shifting while typing, the result of the palm accidentally grazing the touchpad. The K Series is also equipped with ASUS Power4 Gear, which adjusts the fan speed to provide a quieter and more serene computing environment. The sunken hinge design enables users to view their documents and multimedia without strain, while the keyboard provides a more tactile experience, as well as enhanced ergonomics for tireless typing. Now that we’ve seen what the K series machines have in common, let’s take a quick look at what sets them apart. So, first and foremost, the K42Jr and K42F are both 14-inch notebooks, featuring roughly the same configurations, apart from the GPUs. So, the K42Jr comes equipped with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 GPU with DDR3 1GB VRAM, while the F model relies just on an Intel GMA HD adapter. In fact, this is also the only major difference separating the 15.6-inch K52Jr and K52F models, as well as the 17.3-inch K72Jr and K72F notebooks.
