Geohot, a iPhone developer, has supposedly hacked the PS3. According to his blog, Geohot says “I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3. The rest is just software. And reversing. I have a lot of reversing ahead of me, as I now have dumps of LV0 and LV1. I’ve also dumped the NAND without removing it or a modchip”. He later states that he will not be revealing the exploit. The exploit can not be patched, but Sony can make implementations harder. These 3 years, and PS3 has not been hacked, and now GeoHot claims to have hacked it. Would you consider this as good news, or bad news?
